Show your support for our Armed Forces at Edinburgh Armed Forces Day 2017

Legion Scotland are proud to support The City of Edinburgh Council at the Edinburgh Armed Forces Day on 24th June.

10.30am - Charity stalls open in Quadrangle outside City Chambers

11am - Standard Bearers, marching contingent and Pipe Band muster at Johnston Terrace

11.30am - Parade steps off from Johnston terrace, enters the Royal Mile and continues over George IV Bridge, to the Lawnmarket and High Street coming to a halt at the Stone of Remembrance in front of the Edinburgh City Chambers.

11.45am - Parade arrives at City Chambers

11.50am - Reception begins within City Chambers (invited guests only) with speeches from Lord Provost of Edinburgh, Air Vice Marshall Ross Paterson CB OBE ADC and Lt General Sir Alistair Irwin KCB CBE followed by entertainment and refreshments.

1.30pm - Reception ends

3pm Charity stalls close

This year’s event kicks off with a parade showcasing the high profile presence of the Armed Forces and veteran community in Edinburgh. On the parade’s arrival at Edinburgh City Chambers on the Royal Mile there will be a short address from the Lord Provost and a senior military and veteran figures. All are welcome to join in with the day and enjoy the military and charity displays as well as entertainment including singer Megan Adams of Poppy Girls fame. Displays include Legion Scotland, Poppyscotland, Erskine, Blesma, Scottish War Blinded and more!

We hope that you can join in the Edinburgh Armed Forces Day as we show our support alongside other communities across the nation for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to service families and from veterans to cadets.
