The ever-popular event, which sees people race hundreds of rubber ducks down the River Nairn, is also a great opportunity for the community to come together and have some fun.

The bright yellow ducks, which this year totalled some 200, are dropped into the river from the Jubilee Bridge at 10am. From there, the flock is escorted downstream by members of the committee, who ensure that none of the ducks get lost enroute. By 10:25am all the racers had passed the finish line: the A96 Bridge. Duck number 114, having best navigated the slow-moving current of the course, won the close-run race.

The funds raised were equally distributed to the Gurkha Welfare Fund, Erskine Veterans Charity and the Nairn Branch Refurbishment Fund.

The day also included music from the Nairn & District Pipe Band, including Pipe Major Kevin Reid who performed as the ducks began their race, and a barbecue.
