The Scottish Poppy Appeal is Scotland’s biggest fundraising campaign and raises nearly £3m each year in the run up to Remembrance Sunday.

Thanks to generous supporters, Poppyscotland provides life-changing help to the Armed Forces community, reaching out to those who have served, or are still serving, and their families. That might be in the form of vital practical advice, assistance or funding at times of crisis and need.

Here are five great ways to get involved in supporting the Scottish Poppy Appeal 2021.

1 Volunteer to collect. Teams of collectors cover villages and towns across the country, helping to pin more than two million poppies on Scotland’s coats and jackets. Whether you have a couple of hours or days spare to help, every penny raised will help fund all-important services. There’s a current call out for Poppy Appeal organisers in Dumbarton, Clydebank, Perth and Currie. Email [email protected]

2 Text to give. Just text POPPY to 70800 to donate £3. Since the start of the pandemic we’re less likely to carry cash and we tend to rely more on using bank cards when we’re out. If you don’t have any spare change to donate when you see a Poppy person, don’t worry, you can text a donation.

3 Visit the Poppyscotland store to buy poppy pin badges, wristbands and other poppy merchandise. Log on to poppyscotland.org.uk/shop and you’ll find everything you need.

4 Make a donation. Poppyscotland's work is more vital than ever as the charity supports people from all generations who have encountered new hardships as a result of COVID-19. Give a donation online at poppyscotland.org.uk and you could make a life-changing difference to someone in the Armed Forces community.

5 Virtual Field of Remembrance. During these difficult times it’s more important than ever to join together and remember the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces community.
