The coronavirus pandemic has illustrated the stark reality faced by those unable to use a device or get online - whether this is due to lack of skills, confidence, access or awareness.  It is now clearer than ever that these barriers can, and do, have a significant impact on quality of life.

In order to tackle this need within the Armed Forces community Poppyscotland has introduced a new category to its Grants programme.  Digital Access Grants will be made available to eligible beneficiaries to improve access to the internet and online services.  This will support our strategic vision of creating better futures for the Armed Forces community and their families.

The grants will be used to tackle one or more of the following needs:

Devices (primarily laptops, but smartphones or tablets can be provided where this is a more appropriate solution)

  • Internet Connection (primarily pay as you go routers, and pay as you go sim cards)
  • Training (to gain and improve essential digital skills, where free training is not already available)

If you know of anybody who may be eligible person who may benefit from a Digital Access Grant, please get in touch with Poppyscotland via 0131 5501557 or [email protected].
