Legion Scotland will deliver a national event in Edinburgh on 8th and 9th April 2017 that will commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Arras. Battle of Arras presentation
We are delighted that Peter Hughes, author of the Visiting the Fallen Arras North and Visiting the Fallen Arras South will deliver a presentation outlining the battle. All profits will go to the Poppyscotland - Scottish Poppy Appeal.

Sunday 9th April 2017
Service of Commemoration 
Taking place in the Scottish National War Memorial - invitation only. (Organisations should send requests for invitations no later than 10th March 2017)

Beating Retreat
Open invitation to all military associations and standard bearers (standard bearers will be required to attend rehearsals during the day). Deadline for participation 17th March 2017. Organisations wishing to attend as formed bodies are requested to inform Legion Scotland by emailing [email protected].

Reception
There will be an ARRAS100 reception in the Great Hall of Edinburgh Castle hosted by the Governor of the Castle - invitation only. 

Full details of all events will be published in due course and associations will be corresponded to by email also but please put the date in your diary, spread the word and share this post.
We are hoping to encourage as many Legion Scotland and regimental association standards to the beating retreat as possible and representation at the other events that will mark appropriately those that paid the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the nation.
