On the 18^th of June at 11am the Royal British Legion Scotland will mark its 100^th Birthday.

On that day in 1921 at 11am at St Cuthbert’s Church, Kings Stable Road in Edinburgh, the first Unity Conference was held. A collaboration of likeminded ex-service organisations guided by the passion and drive of our Founder Field Marshall Earl Haig. Earl Haig had worked tirelessly since the end of the War to ensure those who survived and fought to re establish themselves in civilian life were welcomed back and provided with the support they needed.

The British Legion was born and began vital work required in the aftermath of the First World War, work which has continued for 100 years.

As wreaths are laid in Edinburgh, more than 100 will be laid across Scotland simultaneously by Legion Branches and members of the general public.  The nationwide interest for this so far has been fantastic and we are delighted to have so many involved.
