Angus Perthshire & Fife Area are looking for new volunteers to join the Committee for the Festival of Remembrance which is held annually at the Caird Hall, Dundee.  

The Festival has run successfully for decades and the Area this year are keen to invite new volunteers to assist with the planning and delivery of the event on the 4th of November 2023.

The Committee deliver in collaboration with Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS) and Poppyscotland, the Annual Festival of Remembrance in Dundee, which is a high-level event, appropriate and respectful to all in commemoration of the Nation’s fallen in service of their country.

The following positions are open for new volunteers who are interested:

Committee Convener

The Convener has overall responsibility for the success of the Festival of Remembrance, fulfilling the Aims and Objectives of the Festival.  The Convener is to manage, coordinate and supervise, committee members who have defined roles and ensure that their devolved responsibilities are progressing and completed.  The Convener is the face and manager of the Festival and is the main interface with all other bodies and agencies.

Event Safety and Security Officer

The Safety & Security Officer has responsibility for annual completion of the Event Management Plan, all Risk Assessments, Medical Assessments, Public Military Event (PME) paperwork, stewarding plans and liaison with Police Scotland, Caird Hall Dundee and all event participants.

Media & PR representative

The Media and PR Representative will be required to come up with the annual social media plan and mange content on the event page.  They will be required to liaise with RBLS and Poppyscotland on all media and PR releases and the photographer for event coverage.  They will be responsible for the PR plan at a local, Area and national level and have creative control on the design and production of the event programme/Order of Service.

Secretary

The Secretary will act as the communicator and as central document depository for the committee. Responsibilities will include taking minutes at meetings, keeping accurate records of all key contacts, collation and filing of all reports, bookings and relevant paperwork and any other administration support deemed necessary by the Convener.
