Scotland's Salute to D-Day 80

Legion Scotland and Poppyscotland are delighted to announce a special concert taking place at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh on Thursday 6^th June 2024. The concert will be titled Scotland’s Salute to D-Day Anniversary Concert and will be Scotland’s national commemorative event to mark the historic events that took place 80 years ago to the day.

The event will offer a unique evening of music-led storytelling taken from eyewitness accounts. Taking the audience from the preparations for D-Day to Operation Overlord and culminating in an act of Remembrance. Scotland’s Salute will focus on Scotland’s involvement in the planning and delivery of the successful Allied landing.

This commemorative event will feature the well renowned voice of Alasdair Hutton OBE TD, previous voice of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, who will narrate us through the evening. Music will be provided by the world famous band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines Band, Scotland. Which will feature their fantastic Corps of Drums, the Lowland and Highland Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland along with Military Wives Choir and special guests.
