Oliver Walker

A longstanding member of Hawick branch, Oliver Walker has died at the age of 94.

Oliver started his military service as a National Serviceman, serving as a Sapper in the Royal Engineers. On his release from military service he worked in a variety of jobs, frequently outdoors; he was with the Gas Board at the time of his retirement.

Oliver was someone who was aways reliable and willing to assist anyone who needed help. During his time as a Legionnaire, he supported Legion Scotland in any way he was able. He also gave his full support to the annual Poppy Appeal as a driver, helpfully interacting with the public and encouraging them to donate to the cause.
