HAWICK

Hugh Douglas Ferguson

Corporal Hugh Douglas Ferguson, sometimes called Dougie, was one of these soldiers who always had a smile which helped all those around him to keep up morale. He was also one the last Anti-Tank Platoon Support Company soldiers who trained on both WOMBAT and CONBAT before going onto the guided weapon systems.

HAWICK

Jeremy Phipps CB

Major General Jeremy Phipps CB (Queen’s Own Hussars and SAS) died in March aged 78. He was a member of the Hawick branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland and always commented that, if you thought hard enough, there was always another solution to a problem.
